Our Direction

The whispers and healthy speculation all around Asian University are quickly developing into tangible, concrete plans, literally – and the dreams that belonged to the founding president are shaping up to meet the next phase. The aspirations to provide Thailand with a truly great learning institution are taking brave, bold steps forward and into the future. New teaching methods and technologies are being finely tuned in order for us to formally announce a brand new exciting and relevant curriculum that will be open to every motivated student wanting to learn in Thailand.

Charles Darwin said "It’s not the strongest or the most intelligent that will survive but those that can best manage change” and Asian University are a few steps further in rolling out ground breaking innovative changes.

From August 2015 – the beginning of the new academic year, Asian University will re-align itself to focus on the fields of service science and innovation, targeting both full-time students as well as working professionals. Additional to the undergraduate programs, the university will also serve as a centre of excellence in English language training and educational technology along with offering an innovative research centre providing consultancy services to local and national industry.

Using techniques such as blended teaching, flipped classroom competency based learning and our own, in house custom produced Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC’s), distance, affordability and practicality will no longer be a barrier to anyone in the kingdom aspiring to achieve a recognised qualification. Whether it’s a freshman student desiring an academic qualification but unable to commit full time to an experienced school teacher or nurse based in the north east of Thailand wanting to improve their English skills sets, this new approach to learning has no boundaries – literally. And of course, all programs will naturally be complimented with the traditional face to face teaching methods delivered from the full time academic lecturers here at the university.

Classrooms are being completely refurbished with the latest technology from interactive whiteboards and document cameras to student response systems with the latest software and hi-speed Wi-Fi and docking stations etc. The complete aesthetics of the classrooms will adopt a newer, more comfortable style of study and approach to learning.

The brand new curriculum is based on 3 knowledge pillars that consist of arts and design, management science and engineering and technology all with liberal education and English language naturally serving as a common basis. The management science and arts creates an exciting new BBA program that offers 5 relevant areas of interest:
